MPHA offers five categories of membership: Active Members, Retired Members, Honorary Members, Sustaining Members, and Student Members. All categories of membership retain full voting privileges.

  • Active Membership is open to people who are professionally engaged in or have a serious interest in public health work. The right to hold office, to serve on the Executive Board, or as Chair of a Section, or as Chair of a Standing Committee, is limited to these members.
  • Retired Membership includes people who have retired from professional public health work.
  • Honorary Membership is limited to those individuals who have shown distinguished interest in public health and is conferred only upon nomination and approval by the Executive Board.
  • Sustaining Membership includes individuals, corporations, organizations or other similar entities interested in public health. Each corporation is entitled to four individual representatives per membership.
  • Student Membership is limited to full-time students in graduate or undergraduate colleges or universities interested in public health.
