Donation Information

MPHA is a registered 501(c)3 organization, meaning that all donations are tax-deductible contributions. But MPHA cannot continue based on dues and membership alone. The work of public health is vast, and the resources to support and sustain MPHA's role in providing networking opportunities, continuing education, and increasing advocacy efforts requires both human and fiscal resources. We encourage you to become an active donor to MPHA through providing a tax deductible donation to our organization.

Ed Thompson Portrait Fund

In an effort to pay tribute to Dr. Ed Thompson, the Mississippi Public Health Association has established a “Dr. Ed Thompson Memorial Portrait Fund” to honor an individual who made many influential contributions to public health and the people of Mississippi. Dr. Thompson was a long-time supporter, contributing member and former president of MPHA and a friend and colleague to all of our public health community.

The Mississippi State Board of Health recently voted to honor Dr. Thompson by naming the new state health laboratory being constructed in his memory. Fittingly, we plan to commission a portrait of Dr. Thompson to hang in this facility to serve as a memorial to his significant impact on public health and the many lives he touched through his leadership, dedication, and service.

This is a large undertaking for MPHA, and we are requesting your assistance in helping the Association honor him in providing this lasting recognition. Individual and organizational tax deductible contributions are being accepted and can be made payable to:

Mississippi Public Health Association
ATTN: Dr. Ed Thompson Memorial Portrait Fund
Post Office Box 4834
Jackson, MS 39296

MSDH employees can mail or hand deliver contributions to Louisa Denson or Kay Henry in the Central Office in Jackson.

We hope you will join us in this effort to recognize Dr. Thompson and his distinguished contributions to public health.
