Sections

MPHA represents public health professionals in many different fields. In addition to membership in the Association as a whole, membership in one of the eight Sections of the Association is also available. MPHA's sections work as sub-units of the Association to promote special interests and encourage networking among these various groups of professionals. Membership dues vary within the separate sections, but annual membership in the Association as a whole is required prior to membership in the Sections.

Office Professionals

The Office Professionals' Section of MPHA (formerly called Clerical Section) has expanded its membership boundaries. In addition to clerical support staff in the clinics, food centers, central office and home health, we welcome anyone committed and dedicated to carrying out the daily functions of maintaining the infrastructure for the provision and networking with partners of public health activities in our state.

Our section dues are $6.00 per year. One of our goals is to provide training opportunities at our annual MPHA Conference, but that is not accessible to all members.

Due to our expansion we hope to be able to encourage workshop participation throughout the state in the members' local sites. Topics of interest will range from Customer Service to How to Maintain Office Equipment.

We have a Representative from each District and Central Office: Delmer Roark, currently serving second term as President; Dongela Matory, President-Elect to serve 2012-13; Deborah Jones from DeSoto County; Ann Parker-May from District II; Anna Dezell, Leflore WIC; Jerilyn Burroughs, Clay County; Selena Rogers, Madison County; Stella Williams, District VI; Lacie Ratcliffe, District VII Crossroads South; Ora Franklin, District VIII; Sharlyne Vuyovich, Harrison County; Rhonda Torns-Anderson, Central Office Home Health.
