2026 NPHW

National Public Health Week 2026 is April 6-12, 2026. MPHA’s theme for this year’s celebration is “Ready. Set. Action! Mississippi Moves for Health.”

Throughout the week, we will highlight key areas that move Mississippi forward:

  • Monday – April 6: Ready! Health Starts at Home with a focus on prevention, family health, and early care.
  • Tuesday – April 7: Ready! Healthy Minds, Strong Communities which will highlight the importance of mental and emotional well-being.
  • Wednesday – April 8: Set! Healthy Places, Healthy People which will explore environmental and community health.
  • Thursday – April 9: Set! Public Health in Action to recognize the public health workforce and the impact of collaboration.
  • Friday – April 10: Action! Powering Mississippi’s Health Future with a focus on advocacy, partnerships, and policy that drive long-term health improvements.

As we celebrate this week, we invite you to take a moment to reflect on how public health has improved our daily lives, safeguarded our families, expanded life expectancy, and strengthened our communities.

We encourage all members to join the campaign by:

  • Sharing our daily messages and graphics on social media
  • Highlighting public health work happening in your community
  • Encouraging conversations about prevention and health equity
  • Engaging colleagues and partners in the importance of public health

Your leadership and commitment continue to make a meaningful difference across Mississippi. Together, we can move our state toward a healthier future.
