Why is Policy Important?

One of the most important pieces of MPHA’s work is its advocacy efforts on behalf of Mississippi public health professionals. We provide an objective, outside voice to advocate not only for public health’s interests but also for Mississippians’ health interests. From calling for adequate funding of public health to advocating for policies that improve the health of Mississippians, MPHA is the voice of and for public health in Mississippi.

We also urge our members to participate in our advocacy efforts and make their voices heard. Members should visit our Legislative Contacts page to find contact information for their local elected officials.

For more information about public health advocacy efforts, please contact, Kaye Bender, Executive Director, at 601-927-7515 or execdir@mspha.org.
